Ancient Egypt and the Nile River

In the spring of 2022 the PSC will be going to Egypt. Egypt is a must see for many travelers, and you'll discover it in exceptional depth on this Land/River Cruise Tour. You'll see the Pyramids of Giza, the tombs of the Pharaohs and the enigmatic Sphinx, but your discoveries won't end there: you'll gain insight on Egypt's people and their lifestyles.
Make your way through an authentic spice market...glimpse the Temple of Dendera, where other Egypt tours rarely stop...and ride a traditional felucca sailboat along the Nile. You'll cruise the Nile aboard our privately chartered 75-passenger river ship, the Nefertiti. Onboard you'll enjoy a dining room with convenient, single open seating and crisp linens, panoramic views, and delicious cuisine; an open sun deck; a pool and a shaded bar; and your own private room with the warmth and dedication of our English speaking staff. Plus, each room has a full private balcony with seating for two - a feature most other Nile ships don't offer.
On April 21, 2022 we will depart D.C. for Cairo and visit the Egyptian Museum, Fatimid Cairo, Sakkara & Memphis. We will board our ship in Luxor on the 6th day. We will visit Luxor, Qena, Edfu, Aswan. Included tours: Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon, Temple of Dendera, Karnak Temple, Temple of Edfu, Temple of Koa, Ombo, Philae, Aswan High Dam and Abu Simbel. When we return to Cairo on the 13th day we will visit the Great Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx and Old Cairo.
What's included? International airfare, airport transfers, government taxes, fees and airline fuel charges. Accommodations for 7 nights in Cairo and 7 nights aboard O.A.T.'s privately chartered river ship, the Nefertiti. 35 meals - 14 daily breakfasts, 11 lunches and 10 dinners - includes 2 Home Hosted Meals. 23 guided tours (with personal headsets) and cultural experiences. Services of our local Trip Experience Leader, gratuities for local motor coach drivers, all port charges, baggage handling for one (1) piece of luggage per person, including tips, visa fees for entrance to Egypt (if you have an airport transfer with us in Cairo).

Sign Up Procedures:

In order to sign up (note that there are no single rooms left), you need to do the following:
1. Call Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) at 800-955-1925 (Monday-Saturday, 9AM-7PM EST).
2. Tell the travel counselor that you want to reserve the Ancient Egypt and the Nile River trip for April 21, 2022 with the Pentagon Ski Club.
3. Mention the group code: G1-27957. Otherwise you might end up on a different group trip.
4. Make your $500 deposit. You can use any credit card except AE.
5. You can also purchase the optional travel protection plan (insurance). This is not required and totally up to you.
6. If you make your reservation by 11/30/2020 and tell the counselor you are using code VAAD522 you will receive $500 off the price of the trip.
7. After signing up with O.A.T. register with PSC.

Membership Requirement: Your club membership must be current when signing up for the trip and throughout the duration of the trip.
Insurance:
The insurance OAT offers is cancel for any reason. It is a bit costly. As an alternative, we are offering three levels of insurance (including medical only for $25) from Myra Altschuler at Travel Protectors. Her details are on the flyer below and you have to contact her directly - do not send the money to us. We have used her before with success. You can also opt for your own insurance.
