Arlberg – The Cradle of Alpine Skiing.  Skiarlberg, considered one of the best ski areas for guaranteed snow in the Alps, has been captivating skiers and snowboarders from near and far ever since Austria's first surface lift added a measure of comfort to skiing in Lech Zürs am Arlberg. The Arlberg features more than 300 kilometres of downhill slopes, making it the largest connected ski area in Austria and the fifth largest in the world.

Our trip includes 7 nights (Sat-Sat) in the 4-star ski-in/ski-out Hotel Arlberghaus with daily breakfast and dinner.  RT air from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Zurich (details below).   Lift tickets not included.  Emergency medical, evacuation & repatriation insurance (not cancellation insurance) is included (details below).

The Arlberghaus, situated at 1,720 meters (5,640 ft) is the same hotel where the club stayed in 2018.  Free WiFi is included.

Our room inventory includes a mix of Classic and Deluxe double rooms, which we are offering at different price points, with priority for your preferred type based on your sign-up date.  If  your preferred choice isn't available, the trip leader will after confirming with you make an adjustment to your invoice.

Our Classic Double Rooms "... are characterised by cosy comfort, warm colouring, pleasant lighting and a wonderful view of the majestic mountain world of the Arlberg."

Deluxe Double Room

Our  generously equipped Deluxe Double Rooms (aka "half apartments") "... are roomy, bright and open.  With sofa and armchair, the cosy living area invites guests to lean back and dream."

Classic Single Room

A limited number of Classic Single Rooms is also available.  If you request a single room, the trip leader will confirm the cost and make an adjustment to your invoice if you can be confirmed.

The hotel offers an array of wellness amenities:   Relax in the sauna or steam bath, enjoy soothing warmth in the infrared cabin, or conclude the day with a leisurely fitness program.  "In the entire spa & wellness area of our hotel you sense all around you the revitalizing fragrance of pine-wood and mountain herbs. The crowning conclusion is a romantic bath under the starlit sky in our Dutch Tub."

Lucerne Option - $930
4-night pre-skiing extension

departs from the U.S. Monday, February 27

Lucerne is known for its stunning medieval architecture and stunning location on the edge of Lake Lucerne amid snow-capped mountains.  Its colorful Altstadt (old town) is bordered on the north by the 870m Museggmauer (Musegg Wall), a 14-century rampart.  The covered Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), built in 1333, links the Aldstadt to the Reuss River's right bank.

Chapel Bridge

Our excursion includes four nights (Tues-Sat) in the 4-star Radisson Blu Hotel with daily breakfast and a half-day guided city tour.

Surrounded by the famed mountains of Switzerland, the Radisson Blu is an ideal base for our vacation with its many amenities including free Wi-Fi and in-room coffee and tea facilities.  The hotel’s award-winning LUCE restaurant serves a variety of delectable Mediterranean and Swiss dishes.  Or try a creative cocktail or vintage wine in the LUCE's Bar or Wine Lounge.  On-site services include a fitness center, a sauna, and a steam bath.

Things To Do:  Our included guided city tour will be through the beautiful Old Town with its old buildings and bridges, narrow cobblestone alleyways, and gorgeous medieval squares with great boutiques, beautiful shops, cafes and great restaurants.  Others things of interest include the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), the Water Tower, the Spreuer Bridge, the Jesuit Church, the Bourbaki Museum, the Glacier Garden, the Swiss Transport Museum, and the Picasso and Rosengart Museums.  And we must take a cruise on Lake Lucerne!

Listed cost is for double occupancy.  A limited number of rooms may be available for single occupancy; request when registering and the trip leader will confirm availability and cost (est @ $660), and make an adjustment to your invoice if you can be confirmed.

Itinerary for Lucerne Extension:

Saturday morning (March 4) we'll be bused to Zurich airport where we'll pick up  the "ski-only" group who will have arrived on their flight from the U.S.  Then we'll all continue on the approximate two-hour ride to the resort for our week of skiing.  Both groups fly home on Saturday, March 11.
