Register To Attend
by Monday November 2nd, please!
Our October meeting will be on Tuesday, November 10th, 7:00 pm in Ft. Myer's Spates Hall Conference Center. We expect to meet in the Ballroom. Here's the link to a map showing the location of Spates Hall on Ft. Myer.
Our complimentary Thanksgiving menu will include (to be confirmed) mixed green salad, turkey with sage stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, and pear caramel cake for dessert. A cash bar will be available for the drinks of your choice.
Trip Final Payments: Many of our ski trips have their final payments due coincident with the meeting, or before our December 8th meeting, including:
Due Coincident with the November Meeting:
-
Snowbird, Utah
-
St. Moritz, Switzerland
-
Breckenridge, Colorado
-
Big Sky, Montana
Due by December 1st (i.e., prior to our December meeting):
-
Sun Valley, Idaho
-
Red Mountain, Canada
-
Vail, Colorado
There are several ways you can make your final payments:
- You can pay your remaining balance online directly against your trip invoice. After logging-in, you can find your invoice(s) from your profile page by selecting your name in the upper right corner of the page.
- We can take credit card payments at the meeting.
- You can also pay online with our Partial Payments Page, but it won't tell you the amount of your remaining balance; you'd need to first confirm the amount you owe and then enter it manually.
- If you prefer to pay by check, make it payable to the Pentagon Ski Club and mail it to our treasurer: Tom Gallagher, 8203 Lazy Point Lane, Lorton, VA 22079. Indicate which trip, and what skier(s), it is for. Or give it to your trip leader (or to Tom) at the meeting.
Registration Required
We're asking everyone to register to attend – by Monday, November 2nd (just a week before the meeting), so we can adjust the catering.
Bringing a Guest?
If you plan to come to the meeting with someone else, there are two ways to let us know:
- If your companion is a club member in their own right, they can log in with their credentials and register for the meeting much as they would do if signing up for a trip.
- Whether your companion is a club member or not, you can simply include them in your own meeting registration by clicking on the Add guest button before submitting your registration.
If Your Plans Change
If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please let us know (ideally by Monday, November 2nd) so we can adjust our catering order. You may do this by:
- Calling (301-579-2749) or emailing Dave Olsen
- Cancelling your registration yourself:
-
- log into your account
- click on your name at the top
- click on My Event Registrations
- click on your meeting registration
- click on the Already registered link
- click on the Cancel registration button
Entry to Ft. Myer
REAL ID Requirement
Ft. Myer has implemented a REAL ID Requirement (click for the full explanation on their website). Briefly:
- All occupants of a vehicle should be prepared to present a REAL ID at the security checkpoint.
- Any occupant who does not have a REAL ID-compliant state driver’s license will need to provide a second form of identification. We suggest you check Ft. Myer's website for the list of acceptable ID.
- You should be able to enter the base as normal if you have an active duty, retired, or dependent military ID, or a DoD-issued Common Access Card (CAC).
- One-Day Access: You might consider applying for temporary/one-day access online at this website (click on the link, then select Army - JBMHH):
-
- Your application must normally be submitted at least four days (but not more than two weeks) in advance of your visit, but might be approved almost instantaneously depending on your footprint in various online systems.
- If approved, you'll receive a text notification on your phone.
Long-Term Ft. Myer Visitor Access
You may recall that we offered an opportunity, when signing up for our September meeting, to be sponsored for obtaining long-term (1-year) visitor access to Ft. Myer. We anticipate being able to repeat that opportunity on a quarterly basis. The next opportunity will be in conjunction with our December 8, 2026 club meeting, but not at this time.
